
Happy Pancake Day! Which pancake are you?
The good thing about Pancake Day is that there’s something for everyone. Whether you’re a sweet or a savoury person, you’ll find that you can put pretty much anything on your pancakes. Unfortunately, the best toppings happen to be the ones that are the worst for you. But don’t let that stop you, there are lots of healthy and tasty options that you can choose from!
Here are our 3 favourite pancake recipes:
Sweet
1 cup of oats
1 banana
2 eggs
½ cup egg whites
4 teaspoons baking powder
Pinch of salt, pinch of cinnamon
1-2 scoops protein powder
Topping: a handful of frozen berries, Greek yoghurt and a calorie free chocolate syrup
Savoury
1 ¼ cup of whole wheat flour
2 teaspoons of baking powder
½ tablespoon salt
½ cup mashed baked sweet potato
1 egg
1 ¼ skimmed milk or soy milk
Topping: smoked salmon, 3 tablespoons of chopped chives, and 200g cottage cheese and ½ grated onion
Bit of both
¼ cup of rolled oats
¼ cup of cottage cheese
½ scoop of protein powder
½ cup egg whites
Topping: 3 bacon medallions and zero calorie maple syrup
